For Clinicians

Many clients gain valuable insight through therapy yet continue to experience persistent patterns of stress, anxiety, emotional reactivity, chronic tension, overwhelm, or disconnection from their bodies.

The Nervous System Studio offers trauma-informed breathwork and somatic practices designed to complement, not replace, psychotherapy. My work helps clients develop greater awareness of their nervous system, strengthen self-regulation skills, and increase their capacity to work with emotions, sensations, and stress responses.

I often work with clients who understand their patterns cognitively but are seeking a more embodied approach to healing and change.

When a Referral May Be Helpful

Clients may benefit from breathwork and somatic practices when they:

  • Feel stuck despite meaningful insight and self-awareness

  • Experience chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, or overwhelm

  • Have difficulty regulating emotions or recovering after activation

  • Feel disconnected from their bodies, emotions, or internal experience

  • Carry persistent tension patterns, bracing, or somatic symptoms related to stress

  • Want practical tools to support nervous system regulation and resilience

  • Are looking to complement ongoing therapeutic work with body-based practices

My Approach

I believe capacity should come before intensity.

Rather than moving directly into highly activating practices, I tailor sessions to each client's goals, history, and nervous system capacity. Depending on the individual, sessions may include:

  • Regulation

  • Functional breathing practices

  • Restorative breathwork

  • Nervous system education

  • Mindfulness and body awareness practices

These approaches help clients develop interoception, build self-regulation skills, and expand their window of tolerance.

Release

For clients who are appropriate candidates, I may incorporate TRE® (Tension & Trauma Release Exercises), a body-based practice that uses neurogenic tremors to help release chronic tension and stress patterns.

TRE can serve as a bridge between gentle regulation practices and deeper somatic work while allowing clients to remain in control of their experience.

Integration

For appropriately screened clients, Conscious Connected Breathwork may offer a deeper level of emotional and somatic processing.

Because this approach is more activating and can evoke strong emotions, memories, and physical sensations, it is generally introduced only after a foundation of safety, regulation, and body awareness has been established.

The goal is not catharsis for its own sake. The goal is helping clients develop a safer, more connected relationship with themselves and their bodies while increasing their capacity to remain present with their experience.

Collaboration

With client consent, I welcome collaboration with therapists, physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers.

My role is not to provide psychotherapy or diagnose mental health conditions. Rather, I offer complementary nervous system and somatic practices that can support a client's broader treatment goals.

When appropriate, I am happy to coordinate care, share observations, and collaborate with an existing support team.

Safety

All clients complete an intake process and are screened for contraindications before participating in breathwork sessions. Practices are adapted to the individual's needs, history, goals, and level of nervous system capacity.

Client safety, choice, pacing, and consent remain central to every session.
